Outdoor training for the summer season commences this Wednesday, 29th March from 6.30pm-7.30pm and on every Wednesday for the summer on the St Francis NS pitch. Training is for pupils from 1st class upwards and new members/beginners are most are welcome! Helmets and hurls are provided. Today we said farewell to our two French trainees who have been on a visit to the school for the last 3 weeks as part of their teacher training at the Université de Poitiers. Marion Vaury has been in Mrs Donaghy’s 2nd Class and Yannick Wannin in Mrs Clinton’s 3rd Class, assisting the teachers and delivering lessons and teaching some basic French. On Saturday 8th April Blackrock Tidy Towns is holding the Annual Spring Clean in the village and they are keen to involve as many children as possible from the two village schools. Meet at the lower car park at Centra at 10am. Hi-viz bibs and litter pickers will be provided, but please wear wellies. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. We will be holding a coffee morning and bake sale in school next Friday 24th March, in aid of the Irish Cancer Society Daffodil Day Appeal.
